Biden talks with Zelensky, informs him about new military aid for Ukraine

United States President Joe Biden spoke by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday evening to reiterate to him the unwavering support of the United States for the Ukrainian people.

In a press release on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day, Biden also announced a new package of military aid to Kiev.

The new package includes anti-aircraft missiles, anti-drone equipment, anti-tank missiles and ammunition.

A package worth 125 billion dollars was reported in the media, but this figure was not mentioned in the White House communiqué.

Biden said the new aid is "a continuation of a series of historic steps that we have taken with our allies and partners in recent months to support Ukraine."

He also reiterated that the United States and its allies and partners "will continue to stand by Ukraine every step of the way"./REL
