A drug lord is arrested in Europe, he supplied Mexican cartels with 20 million euros in transfers

During a Europol action, the drug baron who coordinated the production of cocaine and methamphetamine in the Netherlands for the Mexican cartels was arrested in Colombia, Europol reports. 

During the investigation, several drug laboratories were dismantled in Europe and more than 50 other suspects were arrested. 

The 43-year-old, whose identity has not been released by authorities, was arrested on a Dutch arrest warrant and is now in custody awaiting extradition to the Netherlands. 

The investigation led by the Netherlands managed to link this suspect to a seizure of 2.5 tons of methamphetamine in 2019. The arrested person is also accused of laundering large sums of money, a total of 20 million euros transferred from the Netherlands to Mexico and Colombia.
