The price of diesel reaches around 200 lek per liter, rising prices in Tirana

The price of diesel has increased by 16 lek per liter at some retail outlets in Tirana and along the highway, from 182 lek per liter on Friday, March 6. Today, the selling price of diesel has increased to 198 lek per liter.

From the observation of "Monitor" on the highway, the increase is reflected in the gas stations of several companies, such as: "Kastrati" and "Alpet", "Gega" where it results that the price of diesel has reached 198 lek per liter, while gasoline is being traded at 188 lek per liter.

The increase is also reflected in several points within Tirana.

At the Kastrati company's retail point near the Xhamlliku area, oil is being sold for 198 lek per liter, down from 182 lek per liter sold on Friday.

Also, at some points of the company "Elda" the price of oil has reached 198 lek per liter from 189 lek that was traded yesterday. The increase for this company is another 9 lek.

The Hydrocarbons Association says that the retail market has reflected price changes on the stock exchanges after Friday.

On foreign exchanges on Friday, the price of oil reached 88.9 USD per barrel.

On Sunday evening, prices reached the level of 103 USD per barrel and on Monday morning the price reached 103 USD per barrel.

Meanwhile, yesterday evening, after President Donald Trump's statement on the cessation of attacks on foreign stock exchanges, the price of oil dropped to 90 USD per barrel. Before the attacks in the Middle East began, oil was trading at 65 USD per barrel on the stock exchange.

In the country, the increase in the price of oil in the retail market began on March 4, initially with 4 lek per liter. From 175 lek, the price reached 179 lek per liter. The price of 175 lek per liter had remained unchanged since October 2024.

Then, on March 6, the price increased again by 3 lek, reaching 182 lek per liter./ Monitor
