Investments in energy, ERE requests OST's 2026-2035 plan, tariff will be

The Energy Regulatory Authority has requested that the Transmission System Operator prepare a new 10-year investment plan 2026-2035.

The Entity's request is part of the decision related to a shorter-term plan such as the one for the regulatory period 2025-2027, where the tariff of 0.85 lek/kWh remains in force, which is deemed to cover the needs that the company had in terms of its expenses.

The broadcasting company presented a revised version of this plan several times, arguing that this was done for the purpose of updating data, but it seems that recently the Authority has requested that the review be made into a full 10-year plan, given that the predecessor has already been closed.

"ERE, with letters no. 1907 prot., dated 19.06.2025 and no. 1907/1 prot., dated 15.09.2025, has requested OST sh.a. to submit without delay the Transmission Network Development Plan for the period 2026–2035, which also includes the planned investments for the years 2026 and 2027. - The ERE Board, with decision no. 279, dated 16.12.2024, decided on the approval of the electricity transmission service tariff for the regulatory period 1 January 2025 - 31 December 2027, of 0.85 lek/kWh," the Entity's submission states.

This regulator underlines that if the capital costs of projects have changed, they will be taken into account when assessing the transmission tariff.

"In the event that the projects planned by OST sh.a., for the regulatory period 2025 - 2027, taken into consideration by ERE in determining the transmission tariff, approved by board decision no. 279, dated 16.12.2024, will have changes from what was proposed by OST sh.a., ERE will consider revising CAPEX regarding the investments expected to be made by OST sh.a., in the following period," the decision states.

In this context, the Entity has requested that the OST present its long-term plan by December of next year, which will precisely foresee the planned investments for 2026 and 2027, for which the 0.85 lek/kWh tariff is also in force./Monitor.al
