Every few weeks, whenever there is an Erion Veliaj trial, we see articles in various media, sometimes on demand, sometimes for payment.

The Mayor of Tirana, through the hundreds of thousands of euros thrown at him by his brother, writes articles, lobbies with the claim that justice can be done with reports, it can be done with manipulation and deception, as CNA has often emphasized, that the scenarios went all the way to the American Congress, to the Senate, with reports, which in addition to containing many untruths within them, provided scenarios of manipulation and deception to attack justice, such as the fact that prosecutor Ols Dado was a DP activist or had requested a building permit for an extension and was refused or even the scandal that it was the prosecutors who had appointed judge Erjon Bani, where, in fact, the latter had been chosen by one of the defendants.

Some articles written in "EU Reporter" and in foreign media, of course with payment, with lobbying, materials, which are then taken and reports are built, articles that are written very carefully, throwing the "poison" in certain paragraphs where European parliamentarians, officials talk about justice, about reforms, about Albania's integration into the EU, and between the lines, arrests, detentions begin to be mentioned, as if Erion Veliaj is in prison at the whim of the prosecutors, not by decision of all the courts. In fact, he has 13 charges for serious criminal offenses and the reason is that he was destroying evidence.

Since July 24th of last year, the case has been in court and for 7 months the mayor of Tirana has been postponing the hearings with schemes and scenarios with lawyers he doesn't have money to pay for taxis, while lobbying for 220 thousand dollars in the US to change lawyers or even publicly lying that they had not taken him to a court hearing according to regular procedures, i.e. claiming that he had not been notified.

All of this has one purpose, for Erion Veliaj to create his cause for Strasbourg, but it seems he has lost the battle before it even started because the pear has its tail behind it and his truth is quite readable and no one can manipulate it, be it lobbyists, lawyers in the US, Europe or anywhere else.

Draft report refutes Veliaj's propaganda

The European Parliament's draft report on Albania was published today.

In its chapter "The rule of law, the judiciary and the fight against corruption", the European Parliament is clear in its 5 points, throwing to the wind the positions made by Veliaj's propaganda.

What do the 5 points in the European Parliament's draft report on Albania say?

First, the European Parliament welcomes the continuation of justice reform and says that there should be no delays in cases and attempts at undue influence.

In the case of Veliaj, we have a case that is being intentionally delayed by the mayor and an attempt at undue influence. Are writings, media positions, propaganda and lobbying undue influence?

The second point emphasizes the need for strengthening the justice governance bodies and investments in infrastructure and digitalization.

But the draft report in the third point emphasizes that corruption remains a serious concern and requires strengthening of investigations and punishments, especially at high levels.

Is Erion Veliaj a person investigated at the highest levels and in court to be convicted or to be found innocent?

So, what the European Parliament is demanding, SPAK, prosecutors, and the court have done based on incontestable evidence so far that even Erion Veliaj has not yet been able to express himself and refute it.

The draft report states that corruption needs to be addressed at all levels to increase citizen trust and also calls for continued cooperation with EU agencies such as Europol and Eurojust in the fight against corruption.

In the first point, he talks about delays in the case and unfair influence, a slap in the face to Veliaj, and in the third point, he emphasizes corruption as a serious concern, investigations and punishments must be strengthened, especially at high levels, a "punch" in the face of Veliaj and addressing corruption at all levels to increase citizen trust, and here another "slap" in the face of Erion Veliaj's propaganda.
