About a year ago, the scandal with the leakage of data from the TIMS system was denounced, a matter for which Ervin Muça, the director of IT at the State Police, is under investigation.

The scandal was discovered following an email sent to the Police Oversight Agency by IT specialists at the Directorate of Technology and Information on 3 August 2023.

Klodiana Lala revealed tonight on her show "Në Shënjestre" the e-mail of the specialists.

The latter denounced to the AMP that Muça had ordered his subordinates, i.e. the specialists, to immediately export to an external hard drive data from the TIMS system, which included actions undertaken by the police or even investigation files.

"We, who are writing to you, are denouncing a scandal related to a theft that is happening in the offices of the State Police. Today, August 2, 2023, the Director of the Department of Information Technology in the State Police, the newly appointed (a few days before the arrival of Minister Taulant Balla) Ervin Muça, verbally ordered all database and server employees to immediately export the entire TIMS database on an external Hard Drive, to a large USB stick that was carried in this person's pocket," the email said.

It was precisely this email that set the institutions in motion and the prosecution immediately started investigations into the data leaked from the TIMS system./ CNA
