'Defender 25' exercise takes place in the Adriatic Sea/ US Embassy:

This Thursday, the Adriatic Sea was transformed into a simulation stage for conducting naval operations as part of the 'Defender25' exercise. The US Embassy in Tirana shared footage of the exercise in the Adriatic and through a post on social media emphasized the importance of this exercise for the alliance and security challenges.

This exercise brings together 25,000 troops from 29 allied and partner countries.

“Two patrol ships from the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron accompanied the Albanian Navy ships during the exercise, which included Albanian forces rappelling and boarding a Navy ship. DEFENDER 25 is the U.S. Army’s largest annual exercise in Europe, bringing together 25,000 troops from 29 allied and partner nations to enhance rapid deployment and readiness for joint operations. These exercises are essential to ensuring that NATO Allies remain ready to meet real security challenges,” the statement said. /CNA
