Llogora Tunnel, Balluku: The fee for cars is 250 lek including VAT

The Llogora Tunnel, which is expected to have its beams installed these weeks, thus making the transition to toll roads, will cost 250 lek including VAT for vehicles.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku stated that, unlike what was stated, the cost will be lower.

"There are 1 million vehicles in three months in the Llogora tunnel. Through a broad, in-depth analysis of operational costs, the price of a tunnel passage for cars is 250 lek with VAT, not ten euros, not five euros, not 50 euros, because we have heard figures from the most diverse. Larger categories such as buses, trailers will have special prices according to the feasibility study," said Balluku.

The Llogora Tunnel opened for traffic in the summer of 2024, thus facilitating traffic to the south of the country. After being closed for several months, it reopened in the summer of 2025, and although it was announced that tolls would start, it was postponed until the end of the tourist season.

The management of the payment system will be done by the government itself through a dedicated operator. In March of this year, the Albanian Road Authority procured the establishment of an integrated platform for the management and monitoring of the operation of toll stations on the roads.

The National Road Operation Authority, which is also the operator responsible for the operation, monitoring and coordination of the toll road operation service, will manage the systems on each of the axes where this system will be introduced.

The axis that includes the Llogara tunnel has a length of 5.9 kilometers. The tunnel has significantly shortened the distance from Dukat to Palasa, a segment that previously took about 45 minutes to travel and now takes only 7 minutes. Now, this route takes only 7 minutes./ Monitor
