Online terrorism with reviews against businesses/ 200 people identified,

For days, a group has been committing a terrorist act against businesses by leaving negative reviews on Google, with the aim of damaging them.

Following this terrorist act against businesses in the cybercrime sector, 15 denunciations have been made by owners of various businesses in Albania.

According to media reports, the Police have identified more than 200 people who are suspected of using their social media accounts to publish or distribute negative reviews of businesses.

Authorities are verifying to determine whether they acted in a coordinated manner and whether their actions constitute elements of the criminal offenses of "price manipulation", "dissemination of false information", "defamation" and "computer forgery".

The purpose of the investigations is to identify the persons suspected of having organized and coordinated the negative evaluation campaign, the purpose of which is to damage businesses and the image of Albania.

The Head of the State Police, Skënder Hita, said in a public statement that this act violates not only the interests of the affected businesses, but also fair competition, consumer trust and the perception of Albania as a safe destination. Hita emphasized that over 10 accounts are being verified./ CNA
