The Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, met with the Ambassador of Japan, Kato Kikuko. In this meeting, the intensification of cooperation was emphasized by utilizing advanced Japanese technology, while the fight against cybercrime was considered a priority. /CNA

Police Announcement:

The Director General of the State Police, Major General Ilir Proda and the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mrs. Kato Kikuko agree to create new bridges of cooperation in areas of common interest.
The courtesy meeting between Proda and the Ambassador, organized at the premises of the General Directorate of the State Police, was attended by the Deputy Ambassador of Japan Mr. Fujimura Daisuke and senior leaders of the State Police. During the meeting, the cooperation to date between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries was assessed, mainly for the investigation of cybercrimes.
Proda and Kikuko expressed their determination to intensify this cooperation, using advanced Japanese technology, as well as the readiness and professionalism of the Albanian Police structures to contribute to police interventions with a global impact.
During the meeting, the fight against cybercrime, a crime with a global scope, was considered a priority.
Law enforcement agencies, although geographically distant, must be unified, as well as act as equal and reliable partners during interventions to fulfill joint missions, guarantee public order and security, and enforce citizens' rights.
