Coordination meeting for bad weather/ Ministers Balluku, Vengu and Salla request

Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has held a coordination meeting with mayors and prefects on the measures that will be taken regarding the bad weather situation that is expected to hit the country in the coming days.

Also present are the Minister of Agriculture Andis Salla and the Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu.

Vengu said that after the meeting he will go to the north of the country to coordinate the work.

"Immediately after this meeting, you should make available the long-arm excavators and vehicles within today, as well as the high-altitude vehicles.

I will be in Shkodra myself this afternoon and we will discuss the preventive elements in a meeting.

We are paying attention to the villages of Novosela, as no interventions have been made, we need to coordinate.

"You must remain alert for communication purposes even in the late hours."

Minister of Agriculture Salla said that he will be in the southern area to coordinate the work and stated that the work tools are on standby.

"The Ministry of Agriculture is on standby in the northern and southern areas, especially in Vjosa. We will be in Fier today where we will hold a meeting. We have 10 long-arm vehicles at our disposal."

Present at the meeting, Çako requested readiness and coordination from the local government.

"The rainfall will cover the entire territory, therefore the engagement of all municipalities is required. We have communicated with the municipalities of Lezhë, Pukë, Shkodër, Vau i Dejës and they must be fully prepared for institutional coordination. They must take measures to notify the population, the Armed Forces, the Police, and the firefighters are on full alert."

"This is neither the first nor the last situation ," said Çako.

Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku said that preparation is also very important in informing the population and asked the local government to take measures as the rainfall situation will last 48 hours.

"Preparation is half the battle, this makes us think that there will be little damage and the population will be informed. Go ahead and ask people to take action because the situation is dynamic. Raise the attention of the population and coordinate the situation, we will also use satellite images."

We will have a joint headquarters in each municipality. The rainfall will be intense for 48 hours and this makes the situation with river flows in the South and North dangerous. We will remain in contact, the Minister of Defense will be in the North, the Minister of Agriculture in the central and southern areas.

" Measures must be taken in the Elbasan and Rrogozhina areas and in all surrounding areas ," Balluku said./ CNA
