Draft Budget 2026/ Head of AMP: Investment spending has increased 3 times

The Head of the Police Supervision Agency, Eduart Merkaj, has reported to the Internal Affairs Committee on the 2026 Draft Budget.

Merkaj announced that investment spending for 2026 has increased by 3 times, compared to the budget of the previous year.

The head of AMP said that the digital archive for storing classified information has been accredited.

He also announced that AMP personnel have received the right to be rewarded for concrete results. 

Merkaj said that the purchase of AMP vehicles amounts to 30 million lek.

The head of AMP also announced that this institution has been funded with 30 million lek to increase the capacities of the structures' equipment.

 

"The MP has a mission of continuous and transparent supervision. Other expenses 53 million lek, increased by 2%. Investment expenses increased by 3 times compared to the 2025 budget. It has implemented the electronic application of employee certificates worth 2.6 million lek.

It has accredited the digital archive for the storage of classified information. AMP personnel have gained rights regarding distance compensation. They have benefited from the right to remuneration of up to 6 monthly salaries for concrete results, mainly in the fight against corruption and organized crime. Purchase of vehicles for AMP in the amount of 33 million lek. A project to increase the capacities of the equipment of the structures, we have financed 30 million lek. Relying on this technology also reduces the risk of the personnel involved , "said Merkaj.
