Lezha on alert due to bad weather/ Flood risk in Zadrima, Bregu i Matës and

Bad weather with heavy rain and strong winds, starting at midnight on Monday, is expected to include the Lezha Region.

Civil Protection structures in all three municipalities of this region have been put on full alert, particularly monitoring the functioning of hydropower plants, as well as the supply of electricity to the population, while teams on the ground are ready to intervene if necessary.

"We have been informed that the territory of our region will be affected by heavy rainfall with strong winds. Due to the amortized network, we are expected to have quite a few problems with the supply of electricity. The biggest problem may be with the hydropower lines, although some of them have two supply lines. All 7 hydropower lines in our region are on full alert. We have spoken with AKMC and every structure is on alert in case of any situation," said Nikoll Tushi, Head of Civil Protection, Lezha Prefecture.

The areas most at risk from flooding remain Zadrima and Bregu i Matës in the Municipality of Lezha, as well as Fushë-Kuqja in the Municipality of Kurbin.

Authorities appeal to citizens to exercise caution and follow official announcements regarding the situation that may arise in the future due to the bad weather. /CNA
