Vodafone Foundation and British Council present the First National Digital

The Vodafone Foundation in Albania and the British Council have signed a cooperation agreement to introduce the First National Digital Platform within the framework of the Skills Upload Junior program, thus marking an important moment in the advancement of digital education throughout Albania.

The signing ceremony took place at the “Innovation Hub”, Piramida, in the presence of Ms. Lisa Felton, Director of the Vodafone Group Foundation; senior executives of Vodafone Albania; the Director of the British Council for Albania and Kosovo, Ms. Majlinda Mazelliu; representatives of the British Embassy; as well as two Deputy Ministers of Education, Ms. Orjana Osmani and Ms. Herida Duro; as well as Ms. Dorina Rapti, representative of the Quality Assurance Agency in Pre-University Education of Albania.

At the launch of the event, Ms. Lisa Felton, Director of the Vodafone Group Foundation, emphasized that this partnership with the British Council aims to improve the digital skills of students in schools across Albania. To enable the growth of these skills, the two institutions will create the first online platform, which will offer specific curricula focused on artificial intelligence and digital well-being, just like in European schools - specifically those in Germany, Spain, Greece, Romania and other countries where the Vodafone Foundation has a presence.

Ms. Majlinda Mazelliu, Director of the British Council, spoke about the crowning of this collaboration as a contribution to opening new paths for students, where they will be able to become skilled in the knowledge of the future through the use of technology - not simply as its consumers, but as innovators and problem solvers.

After the official signing, students presented inspiring digital projects, demonstrating creativity and innovation that reflect the program's mission: building a safer and more inclusive digital future.

The National Digital Platform will provide personalized content and dedicated training for teachers and students, aiming to empower them with essential digital skills. This initiative aligns with the Vodafone Foundation's commitment to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusion through technology.
