Democratic Party MP Enno Bozdo spoke today about the situation caused by the increase in oil prices.

In a television appearance, Bozdo stated that there is no country in Europe or in the world that has not taken easing measures except Albania.

According to him, the government has even gained from this crisis, adding that these profits should have been distributed to the citizens. He further said that Albania has zero oil security reserves.

"Today there is no country in Europe or in the world that has not taken a significant easing measure, only Albania. Albania feels the consequences of this war, but we are the only government in the world that has gained from the crisis, due to the increase in basic prices. At a minimum, this government should have returned to the citizens what it has gained unfairly. Meanwhile, the oil security reserves are zero. Albania has no mechanism so that if the EU says that you should release the security reserve, we have nothing to release. This is a country that every time something happens, we throw up our hands. Both with Covid and with the earthquake. This is because no one will know about it. The International Energy Agency, which coordinates and the EC, has warned that measures should be taken. The director of the agency said that even if the war ends tomorrow, it will take 3-6 months for oil prices to stabilize," said Bozdo.

Among other things, the MP also spoke to the opposition protest, where he said that the next protest will be called very soon. Regarding how it will be conducted, Bozdo said that this will be decided by the Democrats.

"I personally think that persistence is very important in these moments. We need patience until we succeed. In the 7th protest, extreme police violence was seen against the protesters. Not only citizens but also DP deputies were targeted. We will continue, we will call the next protest. How it will develop will be decided by the Democrats," said the deputy. /CNA
