Expired products on the market/ Sula warns of "lightning" inspections

Chief Inspector General Dashnor Sula issued a statement to the media after the meeting with the chief inspectors of the Korça district, where he focused on the main issues related to food safety.

Asked by CNA about the concrete results of the work during this week, at a time when markets continue to be filled with expired and counterfeit products, Chief Inspector General Dashnor Sula said that there will be "lightning" inspections.

But although these inspections are considered surprise, they are announced publicly in the media, giving each entity time to take measures before the inspectors arrive.

" If you had the opportunity to address this information that you have on the platform, we would react immediately. The next day, we, as the general inspectorate, will go with them to inspect several undeclared and uninformed entities by the inspectorates in the area here. We have selected both supermarkets and production lines, to be a surprise, urgent, lightning-fast inspection to see if there are violations or not ," said Sula.

In a situation where problems in the markets continue to be evident, Sula emphasized that the reaction comes after signals, while warning of urgent field inspections. Thus, between the statements about unexpected inspections and the warnings made publicly, it remains to be seen how "lightning" these inspections will actually be.
