Report on Llazar Fundon/Fevziu: He survived the terrible prison, but not Enver

The first part of the report on the prominent intellectual Llazar Fundo was broadcast on the Opinion show.

This section broadcasts footage of the island of Ventotene, the place where Llazar Fundo was exiled.

Fevziu said that he visited this island with journalist Elvi Fundo and his team.

"He had lived in different places around the world. We were in Ventotene, a small island where the prison is located, all the anti-fascists were interned, including Gani Kryeziu and Llazar Fundo. Some of them, Petro Marko and Safet Butka, were interned on two of the islands.

"We were together with Fundo, Pelesh, but there were also dozens of messages from Albanians who were on that exiled island," said Fevziu.

Journalist Elvi Fundo said that the strangest thing in this story is that Zai Fundo was arrested as a communist and shot as a communist.

"According to fascist documents, in May 1940 he was arrested in Korça. In '44 he was shot. He was arrested as a communist and shot as a communist," said Fundo.

According to the journalist, the document that was found is his will along with some photos, which he had requested be sent to his mother if she were alive.

Journalist Blendi Fevziu stated that Llazar Fundo managed to survive one of the most terrible prisons but could not survive Enevr Hoxha's orders to execute him.
