Opposition protest, tensions and clashes with police in several key points of

The opposition held its next protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office this afternoon, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government.

The protest lasted about 4 hours, characterized by chants from protesters, as this time there were no speeches on the podiums by exponents and opposition leaders.

The protesters initially gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office, then continued their march towards the State Police Directorate. They then moved to the Parliament and finally towards the Local Police Directorate, temporarily blocking several main road axes in the city.

Moments of tension and clashes with the police were recorded during the movement of the crowd. Protesters threw Molotov cocktails and petrol bombs into garbage bins, as well as towards the villa of former dictator Enver Hoxha. As a result, flames and smoke were seen in some areas, increasing the tension on the ground.

The police responded by using water cannon and tear gas to disperse the crowd and regain control of the situation. Among those affected by the tear gas was the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, who was among the protesters.

Until the end of the protest, there were no reports of any people being escorted or injured.

After the rally ended, Berisha declared that the opposition would continue its action and that, according to him, “nothing will stop the opposition in the face of the regime.” He announced that an announcement about the next protest would be made at a later date.

The protest took place under increased security measures, with a significant presence of police forces in key state institutions and on the main axes of the capital./ CNA
