The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, commented on the draft law on Science and scientific research in the Republic of Albania.

According to Meta, this law humiliates the academic and scientific world, calling it a "shameful Russian gift" from the government at the start of the new university season.

"The government starts the new university season with a "humiliating gift" by preparing a law that humiliates the academic and scientific world in the country.

At the head of science will be the one who destroyed every research and scientific institution, who destroyed academic freedom and university autonomy, who conducts intimidation campaigns against lecturers who demand their rights, who has brought the level of budgeting for Education to less than half of neighboring countries, which has increased functional illiteracy and has almost zero funding for scientific research.

This letter also shows the insult to the opinions of the Conference of Rectors, whose opinion is only requested for formality.

Teaching will be considered a priority branch and will be accompanied by financial support for students and teachers.

Technology and information branches will be treated with priority investments.
