A video published this Friday by journalist Artan Hoxha has shown unusual footage from a Peqin prison cell.

These are luxurious rooms, equipped with a television, kitchen facilities, and dedicated wardrobe space.

Speaking about this publication, Hoxha said in the "Euronews Albania" studio that it is about the cell of a well-known criminal figure.

The environment, which in no way resembles a prison environment, is decorated with expensive materials, marble walls, and meticulously crafted furniture.

"I'm telling you, there are no hotels of this level and this type of decoration. Look at the kitchen there, the cupboards, and the works, look how interesting it is. I have seen investments in prisons made by characters from the criminal world, but this level seemed incredible to me. So, this here is the door, the cell door. The cell door and that square, the window that the guard sees. So, this is the cell in the internal regime of the high-security prison of Peqin. So, high security, it is not an ordinary camp. This person who is convicted, is a prisoner, he made the videos. But it is not his cell. This is the cell of a very important character from the criminal world, drug trafficking, gambling", said Hoxha. /CNA
