In prison for almost two years/ Lala provides details on the former mayor's

Journalist Klodiana Lala, invited to a show on MCN TV, made a comparison between the case of Erion Veliaj, whom Prime Minister Edi Rama has not yet dismissed even though he is in custody on charges of corruption, money laundering and, most recently, bringing illegal items into prison, and the former mayor of Kukës Safet Gjici, who was involved in a sexual scandal about two years ago.

Lala said that Prime Minister Rama directly dismissed the former mayor of Kukës, while he is not acting with the same standard for Veliaj.

The journalist revealed details about Safet Gjici's health condition. Lala said that according to the epicrisis, Gjici suffers from a serious illness and cannot continue to be held in prison even though his act was both legally and morally reprehensible.

"Prime Minister Edi Rama dismissed Safet Gjici without completing his resignation, 4 minutes after the scandal. Safet Gjici published his resignation with spelling mistakes. We have lived in this country and know it.

"Safet Gjici requested conditional release due to health problems, I cannot make the epikrisis public.
Even though Gjici's act was morally and legally reprehensible, today there is no longer any reason for him to remain in prison after almost two years.
According to epikrisis from private hospitals, Safet Gjici is suffering from a serious illness," said Lala
