Political leader of the Democratic Party for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi

The political leader of the Democratic Party for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, after leaving the court hearing with publisher Carlo Bollino, stated that the claims of the party that filed the charges against him are motivated by an attempt to intimidate and silence the opposition.

Këlliçi has stated that he stands by the denunciations made regarding the theft of 4,120 square meters of land in unit number 7, where an area with 70,000 inhabitants was left without a school.

He announced that in the next session, which will be on April 23 at 09:00, they will speak with facts, evidence and documents about all the statements in relation to the reports made.

"We had the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with all the claims of the party that accused us, Carlo Bollino, which are in fact just an intimidation to silence the opposition, to silence Belind Kelliç, Jamarbër Malltez, Adriana Kalasa, Sali Berisha or anyone who today raises their voice against corrupt acts and corrupt affairs.

I strictly adhere to my long-standing positions in relation to the criminal offense of stealing 4,120 square meters of land in unit number 7, where an area with 70,000 inhabitants, such as unit number 7, was left without a school. To this effect, we, as a democratic party, have filed a criminal complaint with the Special Prosecutor's Office, which is the prosecution body.

To our knowledge and based on the official documents we have been informed of, a criminal offense has been registered by the prosecution as of today, but there is still no perpetrator.

There is also a second report in relation to some funds received from the National Agency for the Information Society, which clearly worried Mr. Bollino, and since he is concerned, we will explain in detail about that report as well, and so to speak, in the next session that will be on April 23 at 09:00, without a doubt it is my turn in the court session and that of Mr. Malltezi, his legal representative, and Ms. Kalaja as my representative in this case to speak with facts, evidence and documents about all my, Mr. Malltezi's, public statements made in relation to this criminal offense", said Këlliçi./ CNA
