Under house arrest/ Veliaj's friend appears at SPAK

The friend of the mayor arrested for corruption and laundering of proceeds of crime, businessman Elman Abule, against whom the Special Appeals Court imposed house arrest, appeared today at the Special Prosecution Office.

Abule is accused of committing the criminal offense of "Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", committed in collaboration.

The Veliaj-Abule duo is known to have close contacts with each other, having traveled together to several European countries.

From this close friendly relationship, it is suspected that Abule obtained a building permit from the Municipality of Tirana.
