The opposition, determined: Review the membership of the Electoral Reform

The opposition has shown itself determined by declaring to the media that there will be no normal functioning of the parliament without respecting the rules and without reviewing the membership of the Electoral Reform Commission.

Bylykbashi announced that 50 opposition MPs have requested to restore the 20-year tradition, which has guaranteed two political rotations by vote.

The opposition strongly demands the return of this tradition since the Electoral Reform will produce stability or instability for more than a decade.

"Almost 50 opposition MPs have officially requested to review the membership of the commission and restore the 20-year tradition, which has guaranteed 2 political rotations with votes, because the common rules have guaranteed normal elections in accordance with the standards.

We strongly request to restore this tradition because the electoral reform is one of the most important reforms that will produce a stability or instability for more than a decade.

We request that without delay, the parliament of Albania takes into consideration our request that the commission return to normality, consensuality and functionality.

As long as this is not done because Edi Rama does not want to and with the help of others he will achieve the goal of dressing the commission with a veil of bipartisanship, we will not accept and this parliament will continue to be dysfunctional," said Bylykbashi./ CNA
