Budget changes again, 5.9 billion lek for year-end bonus

The Government has approved the Normative Act for several changes to the 2025 Budget.

According to the Ministry of Finance, after analyzing the 8-month performance of budgetary and fiscal indicators, it was decided to conduct a budget review to reflect new developments and harmonize financial parameters with the current performance of the economy.

In total, 21.8 billion lek have been accommodated for current and capital expenditures, through the redistribution of savings and other fiscal space.

Of these, 7.97 billion lek are dedicated to increasing domestically financed investments, with a focus on infrastructure, digitalization, and priority public projects.

The budget also provides for an additional fund of 5.9 billion lek for the year-end bonus for retirees, bringing the total fund dedicated to this social policy to 9.7 billion lek in 2025.

On the other hand, total revenues are expected to increase by 12.1 billion lek, thanks to the excess of tax, customs and social contribution revenues.

One of the main elements of this act is the reduction of the budget deficit to 61.6 billion lek or 2.4% of GDP, from 2.6% projected in the initial budget. The ministry emphasizes that this reduction is related to better management of public debt and more favorable financing conditions./ Monitor
