The Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, participated in the Western Balkans Ministerial on Scientific Research and Innovation held in Montenegro. The focus of the meeting was on Research Infrastructures and Artificial Intelligence.

During her stay in Podgorica, Minister Kumbaro held a meeting with European Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva with an emphasis on Albania's investments in increasing the quality of scientific research, the use of Artificial Intelligence, cooperation programs with the academic diaspora, and the internationalization of universities.

"Through the programs of the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation, a special focus is being given to both collaborations with the academic diaspora and support for doctoral studies according to priority areas, while we have started the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in pre-university education to create a sustainable chain of use of Artificial Intelligence in the service of science. We want Albanian universities to become regional development poles, which not only prepare students, but also create new knowledge and generate solutions for industry and policymaking ," said Minister Kumbaro.

Minister Kumbaro also held a meeting with her Montenegrin counterpart Andjela Jaksic-Stojanovic, with a focus on increasing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, research and innovation. /CNA
