The Council of Ministers declares September 2 a national day of mourning in honor of director Dhimitër Anagnosti, who passed away yesterday.
According to protocol, flags will be flown at half-mast today.
"Public tributes and the state ceremony will be organized at the premises of the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and the People's Ensemble, Tirana, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00. 4. At 10:00, September 2, 2025, in his honor, all activities will be suspended and a minute of silence will be held ," the announcement states.
Anagnosti passed away yesterday at the age of 89 after a battle with a serious illness. The renowned filmmaker has a contribution of over 40 years in cinematography, recognized with awards and titles at home and abroad. Dozens of films and documentaries bear his signature./ CNA
