Opportunities for seasonal work in Germany: Rules for students from Albania

Germany is constantly looking for qualified foreign professionals, while also looking for and needing more seasonal workers, especially during the tourist season.

Since the season started in June, Studying-In-Germany , the largest platform for information on studying in Germany, has prepared a detailed research on summer employment for foreign students. Regulations and requirements for Western Balkan countries:

Citizens of the Republic of Albania and other countries of the Western Balkans (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Serbia) are eligible for temporary work visas in Germany, thanks to the Regulation for the Western Balkans .

As of June 1 this year, Germany has also doubled the number of annual work visas for the Western Balkans to 50,000.

Regulations for students from Albania include:

- Have an employment contract or a job offer in Germany.

- The Federal Employment Agency must approve the job to ensure that there are no qualified German or EU candidates available for the position (prior screening).

- Not have received any benefits under the Law on benefits for asylum seekers in the last 24 months before the application.

Students must apply for a work visa at the German mission in Albania.

Students from Albania and other countries who wish to spend their summer holidays in Germany as seasonal workers can find work in several sectors, including agriculture, tourism, gastronomy, sales and Au Pair. Depending on the job, average hourly wages can range from 12 to 20 euros.
