Bad weather covers the country/ Problems in the Shkodra region

Bad weather with heavy rainfall has affected the entire country. According to data from local Civil Protection structures on the situation, the Prefect of Shkodër County has announced that in the five municipalities of Shkodër County (Shkodër, Malësi e Madhe, Vau Dejës, Pukë and Fushë Arrëz) rainfall continues, mainly with high intensity.

In the municipality of Fushë Arrëz, falling rocks and debris are reported on rural roads, as well as the presence of water on road axes.

The Lezha Irrigation and Drainage Directorate informs that from about 150 mm of very intense rainfall in the last 24 hours, so far no problems have been observed in the main drainage channels, in the protective embankments or in the Shtoder reservoir dam. The situation is being monitored on the ground by employees and will intervene in case of problems.

The Municipality of Shkodra announces that, in the administrative unit of Gur i Zi (center), measures are being taken to clean the bridge and stream that have caused the problems; additional means have also been made available for intervention.

The Municipality of Vau Dejë announces that, according to reports so far, there are reports of flooding of homes in the administrative units of Bushat, Vau Dejës and Hajmel. The Glinë River is at risk of overflowing its banks and consequently at risk of flooding 1/3 of the city's territory.
