The founder of "Alehandro Group" Erjola Braha, who is known in Albania as the woman of wine, has spoken about her connection with wine and her vision for the future.
Invited to the "Flasim" Podcast with Prime Minister Edi Rama, CEO of Alehandro Group, Erjola Braha, stated that the demands for her winery's wines are high both domestically and abroad.
Braha said that by 2030, her vision is to have a production of 300,000 bottles and be able to export domestic production.
Excerpt from the conversation between Erjola Braha and Prime Minister Edi Rama
We are proud of our products. We have made extraordinary progress. We have a winery that we can be proud of, comparable to prestigious wineries like Bordeaux in France.
The connection with wine….
I was lucky enough to grow up in the capital of the bulbs in Veneto and it was there that I inspired and woven my dreams.
I emigrated very young. I left Albania on the ship “Vlora”, we arrived in the south of Italy with my brother Diamant and the rest of the family. I started this journey with my brother. I thought I would never return but I realized that Albania had changed. I started in Italy, I started with a few bottles at first. Our vision is local production.
Some sellers complain that Albanian wine is expensive?
Compared to the Italian market and Bordeaux in France, we have come up with an average price of around 15 euros. They are above average. We are doing research so that in the future we can have our own vineyards.
We managed to extract 4,800 bottles of raw material.
What do you mean by our vineyards?
Our vineyards. We have our own winery, the technology, but we don't have our own vineyards, we select the grapes from the most selected areas. In Italy it's different, there are more vineyards, the land produces more.
We have a request for 100 thousand bottles of Braha winery, requests came from abroad. We need a lot of work, it is research work that we must continue to produce.
Where do you see Braha winery in 2030?
How I see it in 2030. To reach a production of 300 thousand bottles of wine in the first 5 years. Maybe we are lucky enough to do even more. To reach and export. Since the first production there was a very positive effect. It supports local producers.
I have made a selection of some wineries that are doing a heroic job. They have made improvements in technology and quality.
Some names?
I brought a bottle with me from Bardha winery, Belba winery, Arbri, Çobo, and Duka. We have producers, we must support them./ CNA
