Democratic Party MP Besart Xhaferri, through a reaction on social media, has justified his participation in the Albania Becomes Movement protest this afternoon in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

Xhaferri says he participated in the protest to show that the Democratic Party is open to new forces that have decided not to oppose the opposition, but to oppose the government.

Alongside the photo from Lapaj's protest, the MP calls for participation in the DP's national protest to be held on February 10.

Full reaction:

I will be at every protest where there is no opposition to the opposition, but there is opposition to Edvin Kulla and his gang of thieves and traffickers!

Today, as a member of the Albanian Parliament, I joined the protest of the "Albania Becomes" party, because it is a protest against the man who turned Albania into a narco-state, where votes are stolen, drug cartels flourish, and where youth flee from sight, never to return.

Just as activists of this political force have become part of our protests, I too chose to be in the square today to show that the Democratic Party is open to new forces that have decided not to oppose the opposition, but to oppose a regime that is kept afloat by drug cartels, which invest so that rotation does not occur in this country.

The Albanian opposition does not have the luxury of fighting dividedly against a regime whose removal is a national emergency.

From today's protest, I call on Albanians to come out en masse on February 10th in the national protest, which will mark the beginning of the end of the drug regime! /CNA
