Increased protective measures for SPAK prosecutors/Këlliçi: Threats

Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted to the decision of the High Prosecutorial Council to increase protective measures for the former head of SPAK, Altin Duman, and several special prosecutors.

In his post on social media, Këlliçi states that the decision to increase security measures for SPAK prosecutors after a campaign of attacks by Prime Minister Edi Rama shows that he has now moved on to what he calls "mafia methods."

The MP states, among other things, that when prosecutors investigated opposition leaders in the country, they had no concerns about their safety.

According to him, the threats against prosecutors began with the investigations against the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

From public threats against SPAK, Rama has now moved on to mafia-like acts!

The decision to increase security measures for SPAK prosecutors after a campaign of attacks that Edi Rama has undertaken against them, shows once again that the largest criminal organization in the country, the Renaissance, is now operating with its mafia methods.

As long as these prosecutors investigated and prosecuted (even politically) opposition leaders in the country, they had no concerns about their safety.

The problems began when they dealt with rampant corruption and the government's ties to crime.

The threats started with Veliaj and are culminating today with Belinda Balluku being declared a defendant and the investigations now also including Edi Rama.

The Prime Minister is doing everything to obstruct justice and is protecting his own affairs, rejecting SPAK's demands. But on the other hand, as confirmed today by the decision taken by the KLP, he has also resorted to mafia threats.

The increase in security measures for prosecutors, and in particular for Prosecutor Dritan Prençi, who has the Balluku file, is an alarm bell for the serious situation the country is in.

Every Albanian knows today that SPAK prosecutors and those of Balluk, of the tunnel affairs, and of tenders worth hundreds of millions of euros, are threatened by Edi Rama.

It is a crucial moment for Albania.

This bandit must be stopped.

And only the citizens have the solution in their hands.

February 10th is the day to show this.

Our unity in the square, our resistance, is the end of it. /CNA
