Thousands of Orthodox believers celebrate Easter / Holy ceremony begins in Tirana

Orthodox believers are attending Easter mass tonight at the "Resurrection of Christ" Church in Tirana.

On the eve of Orthodox Easter, believers celebrate the symbolism of this holiday, the resurrection of Christ. For Orthodox believers, the sacred services of the Easter High Mass are a central part of religious faith.  

The holy liturgy on Easter night culminates with the sentence 'Christ is risen'.

Lighting candles is a well-known and special tradition for Orthodox believers. The Easter candle symbolizes Christ, while the candle flame symbolizes his resurrection.
