Meeting of the Mandates Council/ The head of SPAK and prosecutors arrive at the Presidency of the Assembly

The Mandates Council meets today to review the request of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime to lift the immunity of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

Representatives of the Special Prosecution Office have arrived at the Assembly premises, including the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, as well as prosecutors Dritan Prençi and Dorina Bejko, who are expected to present their arguments before the members of the Council.

Deputy Prime Minister Balluku's lawyers also appeared at the Parliament premises.

The Mandates Council is headed by Niko Peleshi, while it remains to be seen whether SPAK's request will be immediately considered and what recommendation will be forwarded to the plenary session of the Assembly./ CNA
