The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, was at the "Luigj Gurakuqi" University in Shkodër, where she stated that a strategic plan for the development of the university will be drawn up, which aims to turn this university into a regional strategic center of higher education.

During the meeting with the rector, Prof. Dr. Tonin Gjuraj and university lecturers, Minister Manastirliu, said that the work on the development plan of the University of Shkodra will start immediately.

"The work on the development plan will start immediately for the new strategy of the University of Shkodra 2030. Together with the management staff and lecturers of this university, but also with an expertise from the academic diaspora, we will model the academic offer for the University of Shkodra, to make it more attractive for the young people of Shkodra and beyond."

Minister Manastirliu also focused on investments in scientific research infrastructure for universities, on the resizing of study programs and the role of academic expertise from the diaspora in the process towards the internationalization of our universities.

"We are here today not only to see closely the investments that have taken place, but also the need we have to increase investments in the university, whether in terms of scientific research laboratories, but also in terms of investments in relation to internationalization, programs joint, double degrees, which require a job not only in the aspects of teaching improvement, but also in the aspects of the development of scientific research and scientific infrastructure in the university. We have made it possible to set up this food laboratory at the "Luigj Gurakuqi" University of Shkodra, but this is only the first phase because we will have to continue with the next phase to have an accredited laboratory, a center of excellence that serves not only scientific research for the university, but why not, also for services needed by third parties", said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.

The minister said that a strategic document for higher education policies is ready, which aims to lead Albanian higher education in the direction of internationalization.

"Very soon we have the presentation of the Strategic Document for higher education policies, which aims to lead higher education institutions on the path of internationalization, making higher education in Albania competitive, with a contemporary academic offer."/ CNA
