The President of the EC, Von der Leyen, participated this Wednesday in the opening ceremony of the College of Europe campus in Tirana.

During her speech, Von der Leyen said that a wind of change is blowing in the Western Balkans.

She also gave a message to the youth, telling them that they should make progress towards reconciliation or integration and not towards old conflicts.

"Can anyone stop the wind of change. Today this wind of change is blowing not only in the Western Balkans, but also in Ukraine and Moldova, but there are other winds blowing in opposite directions towards nationalism, oppression. Russia has entered Ukraine wanted to become part of the EU. And last weekend we saw Russia's intervention in the European referendum. These forces are working to destabilize countries that choose Europe towards reconciliation or integration are those who bring old conflicts to attention.
