The Supreme Court has rejected the appeal filed by Mario Çela and Sergej Hasanpapaj, leaving in force the security measure "prison arrest" against them.

The decision was given in a consulting room by a panel of judges composed of judges Ilir Panda, Albana Boksi and Genti Shala.

Both were brought to Albania through extradition from Belgium a few months ago, following their arrest at the request of SPAK.

Mario Çela, brother of the much-wanted Suel Çela, is under investigation for several serious charges, including premeditated murder, participation in a criminal organization, illegal possession of weapons, and active corruption in the private sector.

While Sergej Hasanpapaj is accused of a number of criminal offenses, including the murder of Bledar Muça in Belgium.

Following the Supreme Court's decision, Mario Çela and Sergej Hasanpapaj will remain in detention, while investigative procedures against them continue. /CNA
