A protest for animal protection took place today in Tirana. Several citizens protested in the capital with banners and placards with messages for animal protection.

“Stop poisoning/ Killing is not the solution”, “Animal killers must face justice”, “Stop violence against animals”, are some of the messages on the banners. On the posters, the Consumer Protection Agency is described as the Animal Killing Agency. Citizens were also accompanied by their animals in the protest.

The protest was announced after a video obtained by CNA showed how employees of the Consumer Protection Agency threw poison in one of the neighborhoods of Tirana, specifically in Kombinat. It is learned that one of the puppies of that neighborhood lost his life from the throwing of this poison. The event has worried and affected the residents of the area, who tell the CNA editorial office that the puppy Puki was a very friendly dog ??with them and did not cause any problems to the community.

In this regard, AMK also reacted, announcing that it has taken all necessary steps and has suspended the employees involved in the incident. Further, the reaction states that the institution distances itself from this case and from any action that harms animals, and thanks the media for publishing these cases. /CNA
