The "Gërdeci" case/Fatmir Mediu appears in the GJKKO

The head of the PR, Fatmir Mediu, appeared today at the GJKKO where the next hearing on the Gërdeci case will take place.

During a press conference a few days ago, Mediu reacted regarding the Gerdec issue, emphasizing that no evidence links him to the tragic explosion.

He stated that the Prosecution and SPAK have investigated him and his family members in every 360-degree aspect, including private and health issues.

"The prosecution has conclusively proven that I was not involved in any act of corruption. The accusation against me is not related to the explosion in Gerdec, but is related to military matters and not to the duties and functions of the minister," said Mediu.

He added that over 10 court cases have been held over the past 18 years, but no decision has been found to show that he acted contrary to the law.

"In every action I have taken, I have evaluated the proposals of the headquarters and the highest military structures, as the law required," he said.

According to him, SPAK has formally taken Fatmir Mediu to court and that he has been persecuted by the justice system for 18 years./ CNA
