Appeal of the Criminal Court of Kosovo upholds the prison sentence for the former mayor of Himara

The appeal of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has upheld the decision to sentence the former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, to 2 years in prison.

Goro was convicted of alienating a property in the Livadh area, and due to the summary trial he served 1 year and 4 months in prison. He was released on August 29 last year.

In addition to the prison sentence, he was also given the additional measure of being banned from exercising public functions for a period of 5 years.

The former mayor was accused by SPAK of repeated abuse of office, in connection with the alienation of a land area in Livadh, in the Municipality of Himara.

The Appeals Court's decision definitively confirms the sentence previously given by the first instance./ CNA
