The Chief Inspector of the National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection (IKMT), Afrim Qendro, together with the Mayor of Kavaja, Fisnik Qosja, held a meeting with entrepreneurs operating in the Golem and Qerret areas, raising serious concerns about violations at construction sites.

According to the Center, out of 55 construction permits currently under development in this area, only two buildings result in compliance with legal criteria after the first IKMT inspection, while the rest are assessed as problematic, in some cases even very poorly.

He gave an ultimatum to businesses to take urgent measures to comply with standards, emphasizing that the current situation directly harms tourism in one of the most frequented areas of the country.

"It is unforgivable to damage tourism from 55 construction sites. The fact that two businesses are in order shows that it is possible for everyone," he said.

The Center also emphasized the importance of guaranteeing safety for residents and tourists who frequent the area of ??Golem, Qerret and Kavaja, demanding greater responsibility from construction entities.

In his speech, he also criticized the Territory Protection Inspectorate of the Municipality of Kavaja for its inefficiency in carrying out its duties.

The Chief Inspector warned that a general re-inspection will begin next week at all construction sites and that strict legal measures will be taken against entities that do not meet technical safety requirements.

"We are giving you sufficient time. If you do not react, no one will be tolerated," concluded Qendro./ CNA
