Criminal amnesty/ Gogu from Pogradec: Corruption and organized crime will not

Minister of Justice, Toni Gogu, during his visit to the Pojska prison in Pogradec, also spoke about the amnesty that is expected to take place.

Gogu said that the details of the amnesty will be made public in the coming days after there will be a discussion in the parliamentary committee.

Regarding the categories that benefit from amnesty, Gogu said that corruption and organized crime do not benefit.

The focus of the amnesty, Gogu said, is rehabilitation for the elderly, the sick, women, and minors.

 

" You will follow the details of the amnesty in the coming days because it will be a comprehensive discussion in the parliamentary committee, but what I can tell you is those acts that will not benefit and those subjects that will not benefit, which are organized crime and corruption. So, amnesty is an instrument of criminal policy which, first and foremost, has a human face. So, on the one hand, we will ensure that the law continues to punish those phenomena and those acts for which our society already has a consensus and, on the other hand, to restore the human face to rehabilitate, especially the elderly, the sick, women, minors ," said Gogu.
