100 million dollars for the Vlorë-Orikum Bypass/ The tender is opened, the

The tender for the construction of Bypass 1 Vlorë-Orikum has been opened in the system of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

On the EBRD website, it is noted that the tender is one-stage, categorized as open with a single stage.

Operators can submit bids until April 8, 2024.

The project is financed by the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and started in 2018 and is expected to last until June 2024 while the total funding is estimated at 100 million USD.

The project starts at the exit of the Tunnel at Uji i Tohtë, Vlora and ends at the Marina in Orikum, with a total length of 10.75 km while two bypasses are also foreseen.

Beneficiaries have been with other interventions in the infrastructure of municipalities such as those of Korça, Shkodra, Pogradec.

The objective of the Program supported by international financial institutions is to improve access to selected agricultural and touristic centers and strengthen the capacities of municipalities to manage their road assets.

"This Program aims to support the development of the tourism and agriculture sectors and regional connectivity through the improvement of road access, as the main factors of economic growth and employment in Albania.

Also, the Connectivity Program aims to develop a general framework of investments in transport infrastructure with a focus on the regional road network in areas with agricultural and tourist potential throughout the country," says the website of the Albanian Development Fund./ CNA
