France national team coach Didier Deschamps has equaled a historic record in world football after the latest triumph over Iraq in the World Cup.

This tournament is expected to be the last for the coach in charge of the "Roosters", but he is preparing to leave as the most successful coach in the history of this competition.

With the victory over Iraq, Deschamps reached the 16th victory in his career as a coach at a World Cup, equaling the record of West Germany legend Helmut Schon.

What makes the Frenchman's success even more impressive is that he achieved this figure in just 21 matches played in 4 seasons, compared to Schon who took 25 matches.
