The Albanian Super League with 12 teams and a championship with two groups, the AHF format is revealed

The Albanian Football Federation is expected to approve an important reform for the Superior Category.

In the 2026/2027 season, the championship will continue with 10 teams, but the “Final 4” system will be removed. After the first three stages, all teams' points will be halved before the start of the fourth stage.

Then, the top six teams will compete for the title and Europe, while the bottom four teams will play for survival.

In the 2027/2028 season, the Superior Category will officially expand from 10 to 12 teams. The 10th-placed team will be relegated directly from the category, while two teams will be promoted directly from the First Category.

An additional place will be determined through a play-out system between the First Division teams and the ninth-place team in the Superiore.

With this reform, the championship period with 10 teams and the "Final 4" formula is expected to finally end.
