Victory with a twist, Egypt "touches" qualification

The Egyptian national team achieved an important victory with a 3-1 upset over New Zealand in the match valid for Group G of the 2026 World Cup, held at "BC Place" in Vancouver.

New Zealand started the match well and took the lead through defender Finn Surman, who headed home a corner kick.

Egypt responded in the second half by significantly increasing the pace of the game. Mostafa Ziko equalized in the 60th minute after a cross from Mohamed Hany.

Just ten minutes later, the team's star Mohamed Salah overturned the result after a beautiful combination with Zico.

Trezeguet sealed the "Pharaohs'" first victory in this World Cup in the 82nd minute, scoring the third goal with a header after an assist from Salah.

With this triumph, Egypt takes a safe step towards qualifying for the round of 16.
