Mbappe and Dembele's double, France qualifies after a match that lasted

The French national team has secured qualification for the knockout stages of the World Cup, after defeating Iraq with a comprehensive 3-0 score in the match valid for Group I.

The match was characterized by a long interruption of 2 hours, due to difficult weather conditions. The team led by Didier Deschamps dominated from the start and found the advantage goal in the 15th minute through striker Kylian Mbappe, who received a pass from Olise and scored a super goal from outside the area.

Despite France's early lead, Iraq's defense held firm, preventing further goals in the first half. Mbappe tried again from 40 meters, but it was blocked by goalkeeper Ahmed Basil. During the final minutes of the first half, a strong storm and heavy rain hit the stadium. This heavy weather forced match officials to delay the restart of the second half for about two hours until the pitch met the minimum conditions for play.

After the restart, France took advantage of a serious mistake in the Iraqi defence to double their lead. During a restart by the goalkeeper, player Ahmed Kasem made a poor back pass, which was intercepted by Ousman Dembele. The latter immediately set up Mbappe, who pushed the ball into the empty net, scoring his 16th goal in as many games in his World Cup history.

France maintained total control of the game in the remaining minutes, with Olise hitting the crossbar with a curling shot. The final score of 3-0 was sealed by Dembele, who scored his first goal in a major international tournament after a pass from Olise.

With this victory, France officially advances to the next stage, while Iraq will play the decisive match on Friday against Senegal, where they only need a victory to hope to qualify.
