The 2-2 draw between Uruguay and Cape Verde at the World Cup has sparked discussions about an episode that occurred at the end of the first half.
The African national team had taken a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from Kevin Pina from a free kick. However, just before half-time, Uruguay managed to score in a move that was contested by Cape Verde coach Bubista.
According to him, Federico Vinas was helping Telmo Arcanjo who was suffering from cramps, but left the player on the ground as soon as his team's action began. The ball then ended up in the area and Maxi Araujo scored the equalizer.
After the match, Bubista expressed his dissatisfaction with what he considered a violation of the principles of Fair Play. He stated that he was disappointed by the episode, but added that such situations are part of football and should serve as experience for his team.
The Cape Verde coach also stressed that his team could have reacted differently to avoid such a situation.
