Friend in Italian football/ Former Serie D player passes away in his sleep

Former footballer and goalkeeper coach, Diego Ruspantini, passed away in his sleep at the age of 46.

He had dinner with his wife and two children and then expressed that he felt unwell, going to bed. Later that night, his wife found him lying unconscious in the bedroom.

The death was described as natural and caused by a sudden illness in Porto Recanati in the Marche region of Italy.

Ruspantini was a well-known figure in amateur football in the Marche and had played as a goalkeeper at various levels of the Italian system, including a season with Monturanese in Serie D.

He had managed to score one more goal during his career with Vis Civitanova in the Prima Categoria.

After his playing career, he became a goalkeeping coach and ran a local goalkeeping academy, where he was praised for his values ??such as modesty, respect and dedication.

Local officials and his friends described him as a man of extraordinary energy and a good friend to all.
