The President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, in his speech at the "Golden Ball 2025" Gala Evening, emphasized that Albanian football is experiencing a historic moment of development and consolidation in the national and international arena.

The head of the Albanian football government highlighted the successes of the National Team, which for the first time in history has qualified for the play-off phase of the 2026 World Cup, as well as the successful organization of major UEFA events in Albania, the U-17 European Championship "Albania 2025" and the historic meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Tirana.

President Duka also emphasized concrete support for clubs, with the allocation of 3 million euros from 2026 for the "Abissnet Superiore" and the First Category, the significant increase in football participation, and significant investments in infrastructure and technology.

In closing, President Duka reaffirmed the AFF's commitment to aiming for even higher standards and to build an even stronger future for Albanian football.

"Good evening, thank you for coming to the Ballon d'Or 2025 evening, which is more than an awards ceremony. It is a celebration of football – a common language that connects children who dream."

with the champions who represent us. It is the moment when we stop, look back with gratitude and forward with confidence, honoring not only goals and trophies, but also all those who breathe life into football every day.

Football will always be played.. it was played before us and it will be played after us. What matters is that, as long as we dedicate ourselves to football, we do it as well as we can and be proud of the mark we leave behind.

This has been the year that is ending for us, as this year marks one of the most important chapters in the history of our football. The results of the National Team, the progress of the clubs, the packed stands and the positioning of Albania on the map of European football clearly prove that Albanian football has entered a new stage of development.

In May, our country hosted for the first time the finals of one of the most important UEFA competitions – EURO U17. While in September, we transformed Tirana into the center of European football, hosting the UEFA Executive Committee. These events showed

Europe that Albania is capable of organizing major events with high standards, reflecting the hospitality, professionalism and values ??deeply rooted in our DNA.

Of course, this year the strongest emotions were given to us by the National Team. For the first time in history, Albania is in the play-off phase of the 2026 World Cup. This sentence that once seemed impossible, today has become a reality!

Dear National Team players,

Gjatë këtyre kualifikueseve ju keni qenë frymëzim për çdo fëmijë që ka veshur fanellën kuqezi, për çdo familje që është mbledhur para ekranit, për çdo tifoz që ka brohoritur nga ulëset e stadiumeve, si dhe për çdo shqiptar brenda dhe jashtë vendit. Ne do të jemi krah

jush në çdo hap drejt ëndrrës sonë të madhe, Botërorit! Por sonte, edhe pse emocionet e Kombëtares janë në zemrën e secilit nga ne, kjo mbrëmje u takon edhe atyre që mbajnë peshën e garës çdo javë: klubeve tona. Pikërisht për këtë arsye, angazhimi që mora në Asamblenë e FSHF-së këtë vit nuk është më thjesht një fjali në

procesverbal, por është kthyer në realitet konkret: 3 milionë euro do t’u shpërndahen klubeve të kategorisë “Abissnet Superiore” dhe Kategorisë së Parë, duke nisur nga fillimi i vitit 2026. Një investim ky, që do të ndihet në çdo klub, në çdo

stërvitje dhe në çdo ndeshje.

Futbolli shqiptar nuk kufizohet vetëm në 90 minuta në një stadium elitar; ai përfaqëson një univers të tërë energjie që pulson në çdo cep të vendit. Në sistemin tonë janë të regjistruar 27.866 persona të angazhuar në futboll si lojtarë, trajnerë, arbitra dhe vëzhgues, ndërsa janë organizuar 14.354 ndeshje në të gjitha nivelet – nga kampionatet elitare deri te garat amatore. Veçanërisht inkurajuese është rritja që kemi shënuar: 10% më shumë futbollistë djem dhe 23.8% më shumë vajza, krahasuar me sezonin e kaluar – një hap gjigant për vetëm një sezon.

Nëse Johan Krojf ka thënë se “ndeshjet fitohen shumë përpara se të hysh në fushë”, atëherë ne e dimë mirë se ato fitohen në projektet ku investojmë sot: në akademitë ku formohen lojtarët, në kurset ku trajnohen trajnerët, në infrastrukturën ku rriten gjeneratat e reja dhe në mbështetjen që i japim futbollit të vajzave.

Pikërisht për këtë arsye, gjatë këtij viti kemi përmbyllur një sërë investimesh konkrete në infrastrukturë, ku janë ndërtuar 14 fusha të reja futbolli në zona të ndryshme të vendit. Në total, vetëm për fusha dhe stadiume janë investuar 6,419,000 euro, pa llogaritur këtu edhe investimin prej 1 milionë eurosh në sistemin VAR.

Këto nuk janë thjesht kantierë dhe projekte, janë fusha ku do të rriten ëndrra, stadiume ku do të këndohet për fitore dhe një mesazh i qartë se futbolli shqiptar po forcon themelet e së ardhmes.

Një falënderim i posaçëm shkon për partnerët tanë strategjikë – Vodafone, Credins Bank, Sigal, Macron, Uji Tepelena, Western Union, Zenith, Birra Vatan dhe Abissnet – të cilët me mbështetjen e tyre na kanë ndihmuar në realizimin e projekteve tona.

Falënderoj veçanërisht Kryeministrin, Ministrinë e Arsimit dhe Sporteve dhe të gjitha institucionet shtetërore për mbështetjen e deritanishme dhe bashkëpunimin që kemi ndërtuar ndër vite. Sot, i nderuar Kryeministër, më shumë se kurrë mendoj se ky bashkëpunim ka nevojë të thellohet.

Football, as I have often said, is more than a sport: it is a way of life, a school of discipline and character for our children. That is why I want to encourage all institutional partners to take on an even greater responsibility together in the years to come – to give the younger generations more space, more opportunities and a healthy future through sport. Dear friends, Let me close this speech with a clear commitment: in 2026 we will not be satisfied with what we have achieved. We will aim higher, we will be stricter with ourselves and more courageous in our dreams for Albanian football. Because this is the way we live football: as a force that unites us, excites us and makes us believe that tomorrow will be better. Thank you all for being part of this journey with us!
